Student feeder schools are: Holland Middle School (6-8), Olive Middle School (6-8), Santa Fe Elementary (3-8) and about half from Jones Junior High (7-8) and very few from Sierra Vista Junior High (7-8).
North County School later became Sherman E Burroughs High School in 1944. It moved to a new site in 1960 where the building became Murray Middle School (now closed). From 1925 to 1973 Marshall was designated as a junior high school before becoming a K-12, 7-12, and later 6-12 school. From 1926 to 1978 McKinley was the district's third junior high school before transitioning to an elementary school. It closed in 1989 and was reopened in 2002. In 1931 Eliot Arts Magnet Middle School opened in Altadena.
