"When You Walk in the Room" is a song written and recorded by Jackie DeShannon. It was initially released as a single on November 23, 1963, [ 1 ] as the B-side to "Till You Say You'll Be Mine". It was re-released as an A-side in September 1964, and later included on the album Breakin' It Up on the Beatles Tour .
They then recorded "When You Walk in the Room", with Mike Pender and Frank Allen singing a dual lead line. [5] He remained with them until they played their final gig in March 2019, when the Searchers retired the band. [6] Allen has continued to perform with the group since their revival in 2023.
Perhaps the most known version of "Till You Say You'll Be Mine", though never a hit, was the first ever single recorded by Australian singer Olivia Newton-John.As the prize for winning a talent competition on Australian TV series Sing, Sing, Sing in 1965, Newton-John went to the United Kingdom and recorded the song as her debut single, being released by Decca Records on 13 May 1966.
