Hannah McKay is a fictional character portrayed by Yvonne Strahovski, in the seventh and eighth seasons of the Showtime television series Dexter. Hannah is first introduced in season 7, episode 3, " Buck the System ", as the former accomplice of a spree killer , and Hannah becomes romantically involved with Dexter Morgan .
The series relates the investigations of Chloé Saint-Laurent then Adèle Delettre, two psychologists specialized in criminology. Their exceptional experience and sensitivity allow them to decipher the state of mind of murderers as victims, thus enabling investigators from the 3rd Division of the Judicial Police (DPJ) in Paris to solve the most disturbing cases.
The season follows Dexter's tangles with a Ukrainian mob boss and introduces the character Hannah McKay, a mysterious widow with a green thumb and a checkered past. The season seven story arc is continued over the course of the eighth season, which premiered on June 30, 2013.
