Charter Oak State College is a public online college based in New Britain, Connecticut. The college was founded in 1973 by the Connecticut Legislature and offers associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. The college is adjacent to Central Connecticut State University and is named for Connecticut's famous Charter Oak.
In 2014, the State of Connecticut Office of Higher Education approved the college for a 100% online undergraduate program (both in the Associate of Arts and the Bachelor of Arts degree programs). [5] In 2019, Peter S. Kucer became president/rector of the college taking over from the long-serving Douglas Mosey (1996–2019). [6]

CSB Media Arts Center uses a seasonal semester schedule, providing 8-week day and 16-week evening classes in March, July and November. All schools teach in either a hybrid model where a portion of the program is taught online and hands-on training happens on-site at the campus studios. Some programs are offered 100% online.
