In 1929 the Department of Agriculture of New South Wales started an Aberdeen Angus herd at the Agricultural Research Centre at Trangie with stock imported from Canada. Various additions to the herd were made, from Canada, from the United States, from the United Kingdom and from other herds in Australia, until the herd-book was closed in 1964.
In that year a breed association, the American Aberdeen-Angus Breeders' Association, was established with 60 members in Chicago, Illinois; the name was shortened to American Angus Association in the 1950s. [2]: 105 [6] Until 1917 both black and red cattle could be registered in the herdbook of the association.
The German Angus (German: Deutsch Angus) is a modern German breed of beef cattle. It was bred in the 1950s in West Germany by crossing Aberdeen Angus with various native German cattle breeds: the German Black Pied , the Deutsche Rotbunte and the Fleckvieh .

Angus Steakhouse. Angus Steakhouse is a restaurant chain of steak houses in central London. In 2001, there were about 30 outlets; 5 remain open as of July 2020. The name reflects Aberdeen Angus, a Scottish breed of beef cattle. Some restaurants still retain the former trading name, "Aberdeen Steak Houses", on their signage, as of September 2016.
