Rhaenys arrives to inform Rhaenyra and Daemon of Viserys' death and Aegon usurping the throne. Shocked by the news, Rhaenyra goes into a difficult premature labour and gives birth to a stillborn daughter. Believing Viserys was murdered, Daemon forms an alliance of Houses still loyal to him and urges Rhaenyra to declare war against the Greens.
In response, Daemon, Rhaenyra's uncle-husband, appoints two assassins in King's Landing to kill Aemond. However, the assassins are unable to find Aemond and instead decide to kill King Aegon II's son and heir, Jaehaerys.
