The Waterford county hurling team represents Waterford in hurling and is governed by Waterford GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association.The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League.
The Waterford Junior A Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Junior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Waterford JAHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1924 and contested by the divisional junior champions in the county of Waterford in Ireland.
Waterford is one of only three counties whose uniforms are not manufactured by O'Neills; instead, they are made by Waterford-based Azzurri Sportswear (O'Neills did manufacture Waterford's jerseys up until 2002). Waterford hurling and football are presently sponsored by TQS Integration, and have been since 2017.
It plays home games at Pairc Naomh Brid. Kilrossanty is one of the oldest GAA clubs in Waterford [2] and one of the larger Gaelic Football clubs there. The club also plays underage hurling and has fielded a number of adult hurling teams on many occasions. [3] They won the Junior B Hurling title in 1990 and 2016.

At club level, Sheahan first played for Ballygunner at juvenile and underage levels, winning back-to-back Waterford MHC titles in 2017 and 2018. He eventually progressed to adult level and, after a year with the intermediate team, he won his first Waterford SHC medal in 2020. [2] It was the first of five successive Waterford SHC titles for Mahony.
