It is thought that the settlement got its name from the men's hometown of Chesterfield in Derbyshire, England. A post office was constructed in 1838 and Chesterfeild was incorporated as a village in 1882. [3] Reverend Jesse Peebles was buried in Peebles Cemetery in 1864, named after him and his family. The Calvert Hall Soccer team has won a combined thirty-four MSA and MIAA “A” conference championships, including back-to-back championships in 2021 and 2022. In 2022, the team finished as Co-National Champions following a 24-0-1 season. The 2022 team was ranked #2 in high school soccer rankings for the season.
He then held the head coaching position at Calvert Hall High School for three years, and led his team to the 1971 and 1972 Maryland Scholastic Association (MSA) championships. The University of Baltimore provided him his first collegiate head coaching opportunity, and, in four years, he led the team to three NCAA Division II tournaments .

Nattans graduated from Calvert Hall College High School. He attended Loyola University Maryland. He played on the men's soccer team from 1986 to 1989, earning Academic All American recognition in 1988 and 1989.
