Kirkland is a town in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 10,075 at the 2020 census. The town is named after Samuel Kirkland, [3] a missionary among the Oneidas. [4] The Town of Kirkland is southwest of Utica. In 1829, part of Kirkland was used to form the newer Town of Marshall.
