This website is here to help with physical science. It covers topics from my physical science class.
THE PERIODIC TABLE. -First off, here is the periodic table. -The Periodic Table of the elements shows all the elements we know of. -Although it looks very out of order, and random, the entire table is set up in a pattern and in groups.
SOLUBILITY. -Solubility: The maximum amount of solute that dissolves in a given amount of solvent at a constant temperature. -Solubility is usually expressed in grams of solute per 100 grams of solvent at a specified temperature. -Knowing the solubility of a substance can help you classify solutions based on how much solute they contain.
Magnetism: The force of attraction or repulsion between unlike or like poles. -Due to the arrangement of electrons. -Closely related to electricity. Magnetic Poles: -Like poles repel. -Unlike poles Attract. -A broken magnet creates new poles. Magnetic Field: -Area around a magnet where magnetic forces act.
Machines. -There are six types of simple machines. -Levers: A rigid bar that is free to move around a fixed point. -The fixed point the bar rotates around is the fulcrum. -Levers are classified into three categories based on the locations of the input force, output force, and the fulcrum.
1. What is the formula for density? (see student solutions) 2. What is the density of an object if its mass is 4g and its volume is 2cm^2? (see student solutions) 3. Draw the density triangle. 4. What is the volume of an object if its density is 30g/cm^2 and its mass is 15g?
CHEMICAL EQUATIONS-Reactants: The substances that undergo a change.-Products: New substance formed as a result of a change. -Using equations to represent reactions: During a chemical reaction, the reactants change into products. this is summarized by a word equation.
He spent a lot of his spare time doing different science experiments. He proposed the theory that all matter is made up of individual particles called atoms, which cannot be divided. The main points in that theory are: -All elements are composed of atoms.

RADIOACTIVITY. -Radioactivity: The process in which an unstable atomic nucleus emits charged particles and energy. -An atom containing an unstable nucleus is called a radioactive isotope, or radioisotope for short. -During nuclear decay, atoms of one element can change into atoms of a different element. -Nuclear Radiation: Charged particles and ...
