The netgear has standard a IP 192.168.1.1, so when I go to the setup, I tried to change in the "LAN setup" the IP adress from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.2 and disabled the "Use router as DHCP server" (as I read in the article how to setup a second router on the same network).
I'd start by factory resetting it. Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on. That'll get you to the defaults login/password. Default login: admin. default password: password. when you first login with those, it'll ask you to change the password and setup the password recover feature.
To use a Netgear router as an extender, you will need to follow these steps: Connect your Netgear router to your computer using an ethernet cable and login to the router login page. Reason I ask is the MR60 system is a dual band system that doesn't have the dedicated wireless backhaul of the tribands. So they have lower speeds using the satellites. and 2.4ghz is much slower than 5ghz. So its worth testing the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz on the router AND the satellites. Message 4 of 11.
As others say, you can set up the router without an Internet access, but you cannot connect it to the Internet. What you can't do is to set it up with an app that needs an Internet connection. But that's a newfangled way of doing things that experienced users avoid. One way to approach this is to follow the instructions for a manual update to ...

Are you running some Genie app on some device, or are you running a web browser, and pointing it at the router? The web-browser interface on these devices has a main page which says "NETGEAR genie", and has "BASIC" and "ADVANCED" tabs. I don ...
That's (at least approximately) true. (A WAP might not provide a. network switch. More precisely, a wireless router which includes a. network switch (like, for example, a WNR2000v5), when configured as a. WAP, acts as a network switch with one or more wireless-network radios. And the radio (s) can be disabled, if desired.)
Useing the R7800 as an access point, surrenders the benefits of including it I'm my network. Not sure what "surrenders the benefits" means.I guess it depends on what you mean by "how to use my router with the T-Mobile interface". If you don't want AP mode, you can set up the R7800 in "Bridge Mode" as a wireless repeater.
