I have just started playing through Dark Souls for the first time, and to chronicle my journey through the game, I’m making each of its 22 bosses as a 5e monster. Each time I down a boss I’ll make a block! I'm increasing the CR by 1 for every boss I encounter, going from 4 all the way to 26. This one was tricky, since there is already an ...
Following turn, cast Tidal Wave to knock it prone if it fails a DEX save (with a -1, even at advantage chances are good it'll fail) then command the hand to grapple the golem. This could go either way, but it's a skill check and not saving throw so the golem won't have advantage, and you have the slightest advantage with Bigby's hand's higher ...
A pool of lava won't help against an iron golem, they get healed by fire. Apart from magic weapons like people said, there's a few things you can try. Paladins can use their smite to deal radiant damage for example, and other easily available damage types like cold, force, or thunder allow spellcasters to hurt them fairly well.
Here’s the golem requirements for everyone that wants to discuss. Golem Time Cost. CR. Clay 30 days 65,000 gp. 9. Flesh 60 days 50,000 gp. 5. Iron 120 days. 100,000 gp. 16. Stone 90 days 80,000 gp. 10. You could tell your dm you want to make a golem and they can work with you on it.
on its own, any monster is pretty weak against a party that it would be a "Hard" encounter in 5e. action economy alone will kill the golem, possibly before it even hits a PC. if you want to be a real bastard, you could have the players fight one near a lava river. if it ever gets too injured, it can jump into the river and basically heal to ...
On Making Golems. Homebrew. RAW: Golems in 5e are described as being made by spellcasters but the actual rules are not coherently presented in one place. The rules assume you will use a Manual of Golems (MoG) to create one of 4 types of golems: clay, flesh, iron, or stone. Crafting requires the MoG, between 50-100k of gold, 30-120 days of time ...
Hi I'm a newer DM looking at the manuals for making golems and I am confused by the cost for supplies. Example is an iron Golem. according to the manual the cost is 100000 gp in supplies needed but the quantity of iron (bases on the size stat for an iron golem) is 2 tons at maximum. iron costs 1 sp per pound so 2 tons would total 4000 sp or 400 ...
Love to hear your thoughts on the changes to these modded iron golems. The hell hound iron golems are essentially flesh golems with iron golem resistances and some extra abilities. Did I get the CRs right? Oh, and if you want a high level encounter involving them, find one here: Halls of Ezel Torm, area 16. All comments welcome.
If mages in your world are fond of this strategy, I recommend carrying an adamantine weapon. As a DM, it's perfectly valid to give golems anti-magic susceptibility if you want to. Either interpretation is justified. You could make the same argument about Undead.
Iron Golem and it's moved into a bonfire spell ... and ended it's turn there A creature takes damage the turn it enters the bonfire or if the spell was cast in their space. Then at the end of their turn, if they are still in the bonfire, they take damage again.
