World2Fly was established during 2021, after receiving the first leased Airbus A350-900. [6] Based out of Palma de Mallorca, the airline concentrates on flights to long haul destinations in the Caribbean and is owned by the Iberostar Group of hotels, [7] a company whose previous holdings included another airline, Iberworld.
The airline was established in 2021 to operate flights between Portugal and destinations mainly in the Caribbean. It is the subsidiary of Spanish airline World2Fly, which is owned by the Iberostar Group. The airline began operating during the 2022 summer season out of Lisbon Airport, using an Airbus A330-300. From 2012, the hotel has been separated into two parts, both to be managed by the Iberostar group - part branded the Iberostar Mojito and the other the Iberostar Cayo Coco. When it opened, it was the largest hotel in Cuba; [ citation needed ] it remains one of the largest hotels, with almost 700 rooms.
