Cakung is a district (Indonesian: kecamatan) in the administrative city of East Jakarta, Indonesia.The district is roughly bounded by Bekasi Raya Road to the west, the Bekasi Raya Road - Petukangan canal to the north, a portion of Cakung river to the east, and the Jakarta-Bandung-Surabaya railway to the south.
It had a population of 2,693,896 at the 2010 Census [3] and 3,037,139 at the 2020 Census; [4] the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 3,315,114, [2] making it the most populous of the five administrative cities within Jakarta. East Jakarta is not self-governed and does not have a city council, hence it is not classified as a proper municipality.
