The National Professional Basketball League (Spanish: Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional or LNBP), officially known as the Liga Caliente LNBP for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball league in Mexico. The league was founded in 2000 with 10 teams.
The 2022 LNBP season is the 22nd season of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP), the top level basketball league of Mexico. The season began on July 12 and ended on October 28, 2022 with Abejas de León got the championship sweep of 4–0 series win over Astros de Jalisco, giving Abejas their 1st Title.
The team was established in May 2024, owned by the Fundación Alfredo Harp Helú, that also owns the Diablos Rojos baseball team of the Mexican League.The club was officially presented on 22 May 2024 as an expansion team ahead of the 2024 LNBP season and Argentine Nicolás Casalánguida was announced as manager of the club.
