The combined group searches for a location underground known as the Great Forge, but instead discover Moff Gideon's hidden base. Gideon wears an enhanced Dark Trooper suit of armor and his stormtroopers are equipped with beskar armor and jetpacks. In "Chapter 24: The Return", the Mandalorian escapes from the guards with assistance from Grogu and seeks out Moff Gideon. After a lengthy skirmish between the Mandalorians and the beskar-enhanced stormtroopers within the base, Bo-Katan and the Mandalorian make a final stand against Moff Gideon.
Using StageCraft, the reflections in the Mandalorian's armor were already correct on set. It also allowed for the series' cinematographers to light scenes in a way that would match the background, rather than lighting the set and hoping the digital background would match in post-production as they would have to do with the green screen.
Receiving a single bar of beskar as a down payment, the Mandalorian meets with the Armorer at an enclave housing fellow Mandalorians. The Armorer, who melts the metal into a pauldron reserved for the Mandalorian, says the metal was gathered in The Great Purge and the excess will sponsor foundlings, as the Mandalorian once was.
