St. Joseph Church is a historic Roman Catholic church at 304 American Blvd. in St. Joseph, Tennessee. The Roman Catholic church in St. Joseph was established in 1872. Its first church building was a small frame structure located near the current church. It housed a parochial school for many years and was being used for storage as of 1984. [2]
U.S. Route 43 traverses St. Joseph, connecting the city to Lawrenceburg to the northeast and the Muscle Shoals area to the south. Tennessee State Route 227 connects St. Joseph with Iron City in the Shoal Creek Valley to the west. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.6 square miles (9.3 km 2), all land.

Therefore in 1916 Saint Martin Parish was established in Sunnyvale, followed by St. Aloysius in Mayfield in 1919, Saint Nicholas in Los Altos in 1947, St. Athanasius in Mountain View in 1959, and St. Cyprian Parish in Sunnyvale in 1962. In 1928, St. Joseph's Church burned down as a result of a fire set by a pyromaniac.
