St Michael's is a Church of England secondary school located in the town of Chorley, Lancashire, England. The school is home to 1,200 pupils, and is a performing Arts College. Since January 2025, the headteacher has been Rachel Rongong, who took over from Jayne Jenks, who had occupied the post since 2016. [1] [2]

The parish church is dedicated to St Michael and All Angels, and is a Grade II* listed building. [8] It appears to be based on a 15th-century design, but was reworked in the 16th century, and altered in the 17th. A partial rebuilding took place in the 18th century, and it was substantially altered in the 19th century.
Holy Cross Catholic High School is a Roman Catholic Voluntary aided comprehensive school in Chorley, Lancashire, England.. The school provides co-educational education for approximately 830 pupils in the 11-16 age range, most of whom reside in Chorley itself, or the surrounding villages of Chorley Borough, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool.
Runshaw College was established in 1974. [1] It initially catered solely for school leavers from Balshaw's High School in Leyland, and Parklands High School in Chorley. In 1983 it became a tertiary college following a reorganisation by Lancashire's education authority.
In September 2005, St Michael's Catholic High School became a Humanities specialist college. A new Sixth Form block, the Aquinas Centre, was opened in September 2008. [citation needed] On 29 September 2009, the school chapel reopened after a £200,000 refurbishment. [4] In March 2010, the St Bernadette Sports Hall was opened.
