Baron Tredegar, of Tredegar in the County of Monmouth, was a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. Morgan was born on 10 April 1792. [1] He was the eldest son of Lt.-Col. Sir Charles Morgan, 2nd Baronet, and his wife, the former Mary Margaret Stoney.Among his younger brothers were George Gould Morgan, MP for Brecon, [2] Charles Augustus Samuel Morgan, [3] [4] [5] and the antiquarian Charles Octavius Swinnerton Morgan. Courtenay Charles Evan Morgan, 1st Viscount Tredegar (1867–1934), who was re-created a viscount in 1926. The viscountcy became extinct once again on the death of his son in 1949. Frederic George Morgan, 5th Baron Tredegar (1873–1954); he was father of the 6th and final Baron Tredegar (1908–1962). The title is now extinct.
Morgan was succeeded by his eldest son, Charles Morgan, 1st Baron Tredegar. Morgan was born on 10 April 1867 at Ruperra Castle near Newport, Monmouthshire. [1] He was the eldest son of the Hon. Frederick Courtenay Morgan (third son of Charles Morgan, 1st Baron Tredegar) and the former Charlotte Anne Williamson (a daughter of Charles Alexander Williamson, of Lawers, Perthshire). He was educated at Eton College [1]
