Classiebawn Castle is a country house built for the 3rd Viscount Palmerston (1784–1865) on what was formerly a 4,000-hectare (10,000-acre) estate on the Mullaghmore Peninsula near the village of Cliffoney, County Sligo, in the Republic of Ireland. [1] The current castle was largely built in the late 19th century.
The wings on the north and south sides of the house were built by Wyatt junior. The staircase and enclosure of the lightwell in the middle of the house was undertaken later. The last part of the development was the creation of the terraces on the west side of the house. [citation needed]
Bantry House is a historic house with gardens in Bantry, County Cork, Ireland. Originally built in the early 18th century, it has been owned and occupied by the White family (formerly Earls of Bantry) since the mid-18th century. Opened to the public since the 1940s, the house, estate and gardens are a tourist destination in West Cork. [2]
Belvedere House and Gardens is a country house located approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) from Mullingar, County Westmeath in Ireland on the north-east shore of Lough Ennell. [1] It was built in 1740 as a hunting lodge for Robert Rochfort, 1st Earl of Belvedere by architect Richard Cassels, one of Ireland's foremost Palladian architects. [2]
To the north an office wing incorporates the 17th-century portion, and to the south and west is a large domed conservatory, the orangery, designed by William Burn in about the 1850s. [2] The house sits within a large landscaped demesne which features a pair of 550-foot long parallel reflecting pools on the south lawn.

Local legend says that the salesman came home one day and told his wife that he no longer had a job because the company was bankrupt, but they still had their house.
