Timothy Lake is a lake about 50 miles (80 km) southeast of Portland, Oregon, United States. It is in proximity to Clear Lake and an impoundment of the Oak Grove Fork Clackamas River . The compacted-earth Timothy Lake Dam was built by Portland General Electric in 1956 to regulate seasonal water flow to Lake Harriet downstream. [ 3 ]
Campgrounds on the lake shore to the left include Oak Fork, Gone Creek, Hood View, and Pine Point. Meditation Point Campground lies on the opposite shore. While flowing through Timothy Lake, the elevation of which is 3,227 feet (984 m) above sea level, Oak Grove Fork receives Crater Creek, Cooper Creek, and Dinger Creek, all from the right.

The Clackamas River is an approximately 83-mile (134 km) tributary of the Willamette River in northwestern Oregon, in the United States.Draining an area of about 940 square miles (2,435 km 2), the Clackamas flows through mostly forested and rugged mountainous terrain in its upper reaches, and passes agricultural and urban areas in its lower third.
In 1923, the concrete diversion dam at Lake Harriet was completed. [2] This lake holds 300 acre-feet (370,000 m 3) [3] with a surface area of 150 acres (0.61 km 2). [4] A 9-foot (2.7 m) pipeline goes downstream from Lake Harriet to the powerhouse. [3] Power generation from the Oak Grove fork began in August 1924. [5]
Clear Lake Butte is a 4,454 feet (1,358 m) butte 1.3 miles (2.1 km) south of the lake, and defines the northwest corner of Warm Springs Indian Reservation. The lake is known for abundant fish and its windy conditions. The banks are edged by tree stumps and free range cattle tracks. The campground has 28 established spots and an overflow area.
