Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument is a national monument of the United States comprising 344,476 acres (139,404 ha) of the California Coast Ranges in Napa, Yolo, Solano, Lake, Colusa, Glenn and Mendocino counties in northern California. The park boundaries extend northeastward across State Route 18 to encompass two cinder cones along the western edge of Diamond Valley. The highest point in the park, according to a U.S. Geological Survey topographical map, is a 5,024-foot (1,531 m) peak west of the southern cinder cone, above the eastern edge of the east fork of Snow Canyon.
Montana Snowbowl is an alpine ski area in the western United States, located on the Lolo National Forest of western Montana, twelve miles (20 km) northwest of Missoula. [1] It is known for long expert runs such as West Bowl and its throwback operations; there is no significant base development; the access road is significantly improved as of 2011, but still unpaved.
The highest point on the mountain, known as Snow Mountain East, is the highest point in both Colusa and Lake counties. Snow Mountain West, a subsidiary peak also near the county line, [4] is 0.58 miles (0.93 km) to the southwest at an elevation of 7,043 feet (2,147 m).
Snow Moon Lake is located in Glacier National Park, in the U. S. state of Montana. The lake is in a cirque to the north of Allen Mountain and adjacent to Falling Leaf Lake . [ 2 ]
It was designated by President Obama on February 12, 2016, along with Mojave Trails National Monument and Sand to Snow National Monument also in Southern California. [1] [6] Of the three it is the only one to be managed by the National Park Service, with the other two being placed under the control of the Bureau of Land Management and/or the United States Forest Service.
The Snow Mountain Wilderness is a 60,076-acre (243.12 km 2) federally designated wilderness area located 65 miles (105 km) north of Santa Rosa, California, USA in the Mendocino National Forest. The U.S. Congress passed the California Wilderness Act of 1984 which created 23 new wilderness areas including Snow Mountain. [ 1 ]
