Athens College (and its sister school, Psychico College, founded in 1980) is owned by the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation, a non-profit organization with facilities located in Psychico (Middle and High Schools and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program) and Kantza in eastern Attica (two elementary schools: Bodossakio and Latsio).
Psychiko is located 5 km northeast of Athens city centre. It is a strictly residential suburb of Athens, with commercial businesses allowed only within two small designated zones, the "Nea Agora" (New Market) and the "Palaia Agora" (Old Market), with current regulations also restricting buildings to full detachment, and a maximum of 3 floors.
Alexis Stamatis (born in Athens, 1960) is a Greek novelist, playwright, and poet. Amongst other work, he has published nineteen novels, six books of poetry, and a number of plays. As of 2017, he has his own column at the Greek newspaper VIMA. He teaches creative writing at various institutions.
