In 1863, the town was renamed Deer Lick and remained so until 1868 when it reverted to Birch Run. Birch Run was incorporated as a village in 1955. However, it was sold to Camping World in November 2020 and is now one of their largest showrooms. Prior to 2002, it was the first NHL Skate center. Due to lack of interest, it was converted into an events center.
