McKittrick is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California, United States. McKittrick is 14 miles (23 km) northwest of Taft , [ 4 ] at an elevation of 1,056 feet (322 m). [ 2 ] The population was 115 at the 2010 census, down from 160 at the 2000 census.
North Bakersfield refers to the area north of Bakersfield, between California State Route 99 and the Kern River. Currently, it is the only region in which no part is incorporated into Bakersfield. The town of Oildale is located there. It also contains Bakersfield's commercial airport, Meadows Field.
Unlike most of Bakersfield, which sits on the flat valley floor floodplain, northeast Bakersfield is situated along rolling hills that formed a series of bluffs and are about 450 feet (137 m) higher in elevation than the rest of the city. The Panorama Bluffs provide scenic views of the Kern River oilfields, Oildale and downtown Bakersfield.
