Eric Millegan as Dr. Zack Addy (seasons 1–3; guest star, seasons 4–5, 11–12) is introduced in season one as Brennan's graduate student and intern. In season two, he receives his doctorates in forensic anthropology and applied engineering, and joins the staff of the Jeffersonian as a full-fledged professional.
The victim is a young male but only one person has been reported missing — a woman by the name of Ann Noyes. Brennan sends the bone fragments back to the Jeffersonian, where her assistant, Zack Addy, debrides them and finds indentations belonging to bite marks from a human — Brennan realizes the killer is a cannibal.
At Zack Addy's appeal, Hodgins testifies about the blood evidence found on the body of Gormogon's apprentice (discovered in "The Steel in the Wheels"), which proves Zack's innocence, and Brennan testifies to his character. Based on the new evidence, Zack is exonerated of murder, and his life sentence is overturned.
