Khan Academy is an American non-profit [3] educational organization created in 2006 by Sal Khan. [1] Its goal is to create a set of online tools that help educate students. [ 4 ] The organization produces short video lessons. [ 5 ]
Brightstorm was founded by Bumsoo Kim, Jeff Marshall, and Chris Walsh in 2008. Bumsoo Kim, then investment principal at KTB Ventures, had interests in investing in a K-12 online education company as a result of the unfulfilled potential he perceived within the industry at the time.
The original text continues to be available as of 2008 from Macmillan and Co., but a 1998 update by Martin Gardner is available from St. Martin's Press which provides an introduction; three preliminary chapters explaining functions, limits, and derivatives; an appendix of recreational calculus problems; and notes for modern readers.
