William John Conybeare was the son of Dean William Daniel Conybeare. [1] He attended Westminster School, where he formed a life-long friendship with George Cotton, later Bishop of Calcutta. [2] He matriculated at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1833, where he was elected fellow in 1837. [2] [3]

John Conybeare (31 January 1692 – 13 July 1755) was Bishop of Bristol and one of the most notable theologians of the 18th century. Conybeare was born at Pinhoe , where his father was vicar, and educated at Exeter Free School , Blundell's School and Exeter College, Oxford .
Conybeare was born in Coulsdon, Surrey, the third son of a barrister, John Charles Conybeare, and grandson of the geologist William Daniel Conybeare. [1] He took an interest in the Order of Corporate Reunion, an Old Catholic organization, becoming a Bishop in it in 1894.
