As of the 2020 census [1] there were 4,765 people, 1,937 households, and 1,178 families residing in the township. The population density was 131.37 inhabitants per square mile (50.72/km 2).
A residential house was purchased at 1607 Richmond Ave for this purpose and was named "The Mattoon Jewish Community Center." The MJCC interior was remodeled having a central assembly and worship area that was 15 by 40 feet (4.6 by 12.2 m).
