National Bank of Dubai (NBD) (Arabic: بنك دبي الوطني) is a building in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The building, located in eastern Dubai in Deira, houses the headquarters of the National Bank of Dubai.
The predecessor of the central bank was the Currency Board which was established on 19 May 1973. [3] This followed the creation of the UAE as an independent state in 1971.
Its first 13 branches (5 outside Istanbul) were also opened. [1] With a revitalization program initiated, branches were opened under a new corporate identity. Expansion was supported by the acquisition of branch offices from other banks, including Tarişbank in 2002. Internet banking was introduced in 1999, and Deniz Yatırım was founded in 2001.
