In 1947, the communities of South Bosque consolidated their schools. The district was midway between Hewitt and South Bosque. In 1972, Speegleville ISD merged with Midway ISD. After four years of growth, the "new" high school was opened in 1976. In 2003, another "new" high school opened.

Fort Worth Independent School District is a school district based in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. Based on a 2017-18 enrollment of 86,234 students, it is the fifth largest school district in Texas. [2] Fort Worth ISD serves most of the city of Fort Worth, and the cities of Benbrook, Westover Hills, and Westworth Village.
The attendance rate for students in the district is 97%, compared with a state average of 96%. 32% of the students in the district are economically disadvantaged, 10% enroll in special education, 5% enroll in gifted and talent programs, 22% are enrolled in career and technology programs, and 3% are considered "limited English proficient."
A bond election, which would have built a football stadium, was narrowly defeated in November 2006, but was placed on the ballot again in 2007 and was passed. The 2008 school year saw Krum Middle School play the district's first ever football games (defeating the middle school B teams from powerhouse Celina in both the 7th and 8th grade contests).
