The Fleet Air Arm (FAA) is the naval aviation component of the United Kingdom's Royal Navy (RN). The FAA is one of five RN fighting arms. [7] As of 2023 it is a primarily helicopter force, though also operating the F-35 Lightning II carrier-based stealth fighter jointly with the Royal Air Force.

It currently forms part of No. 1 Flying Training School at RAF Shawbury and trains pilots and aircrew from all three services under 2 Maritime Air Wing, operating with the Airbus H135 Juno HT Mk1 utility helicopter.
The "Sharks" were the Royal Navy's Helicopter Display Team from 1975 to 1992. They initially flew six red Westland Gazelle helicopters, with aircraft and pilots drawn from 705 Naval Air Squadron based at RNAS Culdrose (HMS Seahawk), Cornwall. After a mid-air collision between two aircraft in June 1977, the team size was reduced to four aircraft.
