Firmin was the son of Alexis Breaux and Marguerite Barrieu, born at Riviere aux Canards, near present day Port Williams, Nova Scotia, in 1749.In 1755, Firmin's family, along with many other Acadians, were deported from Canada into Boston during the expulsion of the Acadians. [1]
She was appointed to the Senate in December 2006. Breaux was an employee of the Indiana Department of Commerce. She was also employed by the Community Development Corporation and the Forest Manor Multi-Service Center. [2] Breaux was a member of the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus. Breaux died on March 20, 2024, at the age of 65. [3]
