North Pole is a small city in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, United States. Incorporated in 1953, it is part of the Fairbanks metropolitan statistical area . As of the 2020 census , the city had a population of 2,243, [ 2 ] up from 2,117 in 2010. [ 3 ]
Arctic Alaska or Far North Alaska is a region of the U.S. state of Alaska generally referring to the northern areas on or close to the Arctic Ocean. Little America III was established for the 1940–1941 season, some six miles (ten kilometers) to the north. In 1940 a huge exploration vehicle, the Antarctic Snow Cruiser, was brought to Little America III. Unfortunately, the vehicle was found to have a number of design and technical weaknesses and was little used.
