An important point of view is that recurrent pleomorphic adenomas may occur after a very long time from primary surgery, on average over 7–10 years but up to 24 years afterwards. [ 11 ] [ 10 ] Thus, it is of utmost importance to evaluate the ultimate results of these different surgical techniques in the future.

These tumors are almost never life-threatening. There are many types of benign salivary gland tumors, with names such as adenomas, oncocytomas, Warthin tumors, and benign mixed tumors (also known as pleomorphic adenomas). Benign tumors are almost always cured by surgery.
The tumors are usually small, with a mean size of about 1.2 cm. [2] The tumors are separated into three histologic types based on the dominant findings: Ceruminous adenoma [2] Ceruminous pleomorphic adenoma [2] [5] Ceruminous syringocystadenoma papilliferum [2] All of the tumors are unencapsulated, but are usually well defined or circumscribed.
