The Minneapolis Skyway System is an interlinked collection of enclosed pedestrian footbridges that connect various buildings in 80 full city blocks over 9.5 miles (15.3 km) [1] [2] of Downtown Minneapolis, enabling people to walk in climate-controlled comfort year-round. [3]
It is one of three skyway/tunnel systems in the Twin Cities area. The other two occupy both downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul. That skyway was burned in the Minneapolis Thanksgiving Day fire in 1982, and when the new Norwest Center was built, the replacement skyway was connected to the former Midwest Federal Savings and Loan building instead of the Cargill Building. RSM Plaza is a 320-foot (98 m) tall skyscraper in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Formerly known as McGladrey Plaza, it was completed in 1969 and has 20 floors. In October 2015, the building was renamed RSM Plaza after its largest tenant, McGladrey, changed its own name to RSM. It is the 30th-tallest building in the city and is located on Nicollet Mall.
