For all those using WhatsApp Web in Chrome - if it is very slow - just delete the cached db, i.e. delete the IndexedDB. Open whatsapp web in Chrome web browser, F12 (enter dev tools), Now go to Application tab and delete all IndexedDB one by one. It will start fresh and for me it is now blazing fast. Enjoy :)
My google account language is English, my system language is English, my chrome language is English, but whatsapp web keeps showing in my native language and I can't find an option that changes it. The best solution is to open Whatsapp web in Google Chrome. Then go to the 3 dot menu -> Save and Share -> Install Whatsapp Web. Go on play store and select the "Leave multi-device" beta. Now it works just fine! Edit: typo. Had the same issue with chrome despite windows having few GBs free space. Didn't have the option to leave multi-beta anywhere in Whatsapp or play store. Used Mozilla browser and no issues so far.
