The VBL announced in July 2008 that the Rockbridge Rapids would start play in the 2009 season, but the team folded a couple years later. In 2011 the Strasburg Express entered the league and in 2015 the Charlottesville Tom Sox entered the league. [2] The league canceled the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [3] [4]
