Hello SDN friends...I wanted to create this thread to inquire more about the "hierarchy/pecking order" if you will when it comes to podiatry residencies.
The 1st/2nd assist system replaced the A/B/C system for 2 reasons. 1. Residency shortage demanded more spots which for a lot of programs was not feasible with the old system. Assuming people were logging legitimately. 2. The A/B/C system was too subjective. Nothing stopped programs from fudging their numbers and logging all cases as C's.

Lifestyle: Podiatry is the only residency at the hospital and are treated well. Free food in the doctors lounge. All the residents had families when I was there and the hours didn’t seem to be crazy. An occasional after hours case, but not bad. As a student, you pay $100 and get set up in a nice apartment with free food for the month.
Then use the residency resource guide here on sdn and if the student podiatry association still prints the program reviews, get these and study them. Talk to residents at the residency fairs at your school. Then pick clerkships based on this. So focus more on clerkships than residencies. 1 user.

Depending on how you answer those questions (and many more) will change how you would rank even the three programs listed above. For example, someone may go to the three you listed and rank them 1. Detroit, 2. Grant and 3. Inova while another may rank them in opposite order.
