The Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso (Spanish: Palacio Real de La Granja de San Ildefonso), known as La Granja, is an early 18th-century palace in the small town of San Ildefonso, located in the hills near Segovia and 80 kilometres (50 mi) north of Madrid, within the Province of Segovia in central Spain.
"La Granja" (Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso) is a royal palace and gardens built adjacent to the town in 1721-24. [3] It was commissioned by King Philip V, and designed in the Spanish Baroque and French Baroque styles.
Su nombre proviene de una antigua granja que los monjes jerónimos del monasterio segoviano de El Parral tenían aquí. La Granja or Granja de Granadilla is a municipality in the province of Cáceres and autonomous community of Extremadura, Spain. The municipality covers an area of 14.94 square kilometres (5.77 sq mi. In 2011 it had a population of 364 people. [2] It is located between the shires of Tierras de Granadilla and Ambroz Valley.
