Caniçal (Portuguese pronunciation:) is a civil parish in the municipality of Machico in the Portuguese island of Madeira. The population in 2011 was 3,924, [ 1 ] in an area of 11.85 km 2 . The Quinta da Boa Vista is a historic quinta ('estate') and orchid garden in the Santa Maria Maior parish of Funchal on the island of Madeira, overlooking the central and western parts of Funchal.
