The NCAA Division I Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship is an annual collegiate outdoor track and field competition for men organised by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It has been held every year since 1921, except for 1924 and 2020.
For several years, the NCAA was a discussion group and rules-making body, but in 1921, the first NCAA national championship was conducted: the National Collegiate Track and Field Championships. Gradually, more rules committees were formed and more championships were created, including a basketball championship in 1939.

The track and field team is coached by Chris Johnson, who began in 2023, and has won nine NCAA Division I championships since 2015, five in indoor track and field and three in outdoor track and field and one in cross country.
