Plymouth (/ ˈ p l ɪ m ə θ / ⓘ PLIM-əth; historically also spelled as Plimouth and Plimoth) is a town and county seat of Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States.Located in Greater Boston, the town holds a place of great prominence in American history, folklore, and culture, and is known as "America's Hometown".
The geographical regions of North Plymouth, South Plymouth, and West Plymouth are named based upon their relationship to Plymouth Center. Plymouth has one of the longest coastlines of any town in Massachusetts, and makes up the entire western shore of Cape Cod Bay. The town is therefore home to a wide array of beach communities.
