The other Mohawk, No. 3001, is a 1940 ALCO-built L-3a at the National New York Central Railroad Museum in Elkhart, Indiana and is the largest surviving NYC steam locomotive. Boston and Maine 3713, also known as the "Constitution", is the sole survivor of the "P-4a" class 4-6-2 "Heavy Pacific" type steam locomotives. It was built in December 1934 by the Lima Locomotive Works for the Boston and Maine Railroad (B&M), hauling passenger trains around the New England region.
In the mid-1980s, No. 3001 was later donated to the National New York Central Railroad Museum in Elkhart, Indiana. It is the largest modern NYC steam locomotive still in existence and is one of two surviving New York Central Mohawks; the other, No. 2933, which is currently on display at the National Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri.
