The main recording studio (sometimes called studio 1 internally) of Radio Universidad de Costa Rica, on 5 August 2016. This station (the first radio station of the University of Costa Rica) started broadcasting on 29 November 1949, thus shortly after the Costa Rican Civil War of 1948 and the subsequent second republic (See Junta Fundadora de la Segunda República (in Spanish)).
LOS40 stations are broadcast in: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and the Dominican Republic. The stations predominantly play contemporary hit music in Spanish and English contemporary hit music, featuring a mix of American, Latin American, Pan-European, and British artists.
Repretel owns Costa Rican channels 4, 6, 11 and 2. [1] Repretel began operating in 1993 with Channel 9, in 2000 the lease expired and moved to Channel 4. [2] The company also operates 11 radio stations. [3] In 2012, Repretel bought Channel 2, from Mrs. Roxie Blen and branded the channel as CDR 2.
