Aku Cinta Dia (I Love Her) is a 1985 pop album by the Indonesian singer Chrisye.It was his tenth studio album. Recorded after the romantic pop album Sendiri (Alone; 1984), Aku Cinta Dia was Chrisye's first of three collaborations with Adjie Soetama.
After changing collaborators several times over his early solo albums, starting with Sabda Alam (1978), [1] in 1983 Chrisye recorded a trilogy of albums for which Jockie Soerjoprajogo and Eros Djarot – with whom he had worked on Badai Pasti Berlalu – wrote or co-wrote most of the songs. [4]
His next album, Percik Pesona (1979), was a critical and commercial failure, leading Chrisye to stop his work with Jockie. [10] He then began work on Puspa Indah (1980), using mostly songs written by Guruh. For promotion, Chrisye had a cameo in the film Puspa Indah Taman Hati (1979), in which he sang "Galih dan Ratna" and "Gita Cinta". [11]
In late 1984 Chrisye approached another young composer, Adjie Soetama, to help him prepare his next album. Light beats and cheerful melodies were in vogue at the time; therefore the two used a lighter style. Recording for the new album, titled Aku Cinta Dia (I Love Her), began in 1985, with additional songs from Guruh and Dadang S. Manaf. [48]
Chrisye later stated that Hip Hip Hura was the second part of light beat trilogy, after Aku Cinta Dia but before 1986's Nona Lisa. The band released one album, Ideologi Sikap Otak, in 1998 [4] and are best remembered for the hit songs "Distorsi" and "Aku Cinta Kau dan Dia". Inactive since 1999, the band reunited in 2021 with Ahmad Dhani and Andra Ramadhan as the original members (also the remaining original members of Dewa 19 ), among with others.
