The Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana was an IndyCar Series race held at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana in 2015. [1] [2] The only race held in 2015 was plagued by heavy rain, which turned much of the facility in a quagmire. Qualifying was cancelled, and the race was shortened with most of the laps run under caution.
Carmouche was convicted of the charges on March 14, 1990 [3] and he was subsequently banned for ten years from state tracks by the Louisiana Racing Commission [4] but the ban lasted just eight years. The track resumed racing after World War II. The Fair Grounds Racing Hall of Fame was established in 1971. In 1981 a turf course was installed. In 1990 the track was sold to the Krantz family. In 1993, the grandstand was completely destroyed by a seven-alarm fire and racing continued with temporary facilities in place for a couple of years.
