TV 2 Direkte (English: TV 2 Live) is a Norwegian terrestrial television channel. Its headquarters are located in Bergen.TV 2 began test broadcasting on 13 November 1991, and a year later, it was officially launched on 5 September 1992, becoming Norway's first commercial free-to-air television channel.

TV 2 Nyheter (TV 2 News) is a 24-hour Norwegian language television news channel which started broadcasting on 15 January 2007. It is Norway's first national news network in Norwegian, although Nyhetskanalen did exist from 1997 to 1998. The channel's main newsroom is located in Bergen.

NRK News (in Norwegian: NRK Nyheter) is the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's news organisation. It produces news around the clock for radio and television in Norwegian and Sami . There are two main newsrooms, one for radio ( NRK Dagsnytt ) and one for television ( NRK Dagsrevyen ); both are headquartered in the Norwegian capital Oslo .
The company is owned in equal parts by NRK, TV 2 and Telenor. The same companies also own RiksTV. RiksTV offers a range of pay television channels. NTV was established in 2002, and received a 15-year concession in 2006. DTT was introduced gradually starting in 2007, and by the end of 2008, full coverage had been reached.
TV 2 Nyhetene is Norway's TV 2 Direkte regular news that has been shown every day since the start of 1992, at 18:30 and at 21:00. There used to be a shorter newscast that ran around midnight, but ended around the time TV 2 Nyheter started. The 21:00 news was voted the Gullruten 2004 best current affairs program (news, sports and debate).
