Sanford Dixon Bishop Jr. (born February 4, 1947) [1] is an American lawyer and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Georgia's 2nd congressional district since 1993. He became the dean of Georgia's congressional delegation after the death of John Lewis .
The district is currently represented by Democrat Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. Georgia's largest district by land area, it comprises much of the southwestern portion of the state.
