The Wilson Central Business–Tobacco Warehouse District is a national historic district located at Wilson, Wilson County, North Carolina. It encompasses 152 contributing buildings , 20 contributing sites, and 2 contributing structures in the central business district of Wilson.
In the early 1900s, there were 328 plantations identified in North Carolina from extant records. [ 10 ] [ 8 ] [ 9 ] The Sloop Point plantation in Pender County, built in 1729, is the oldest surviving plantation house and the second oldest house surviving in North Carolina, after the Lane House (built in 1718–1719 and not part of a plantation).
The Old Wilson Historic District in Wilson, North Carolina is a 164-acre (66 ha) historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1984. It includes work dating from 1853 and work designed by architect Solon Balias Moore and others.
The Cherry Hotel is a historic hotel building located at Wilson, Wilson County, North Carolina. It was designed by Charles Collins Benton in Beaux Arts style and built in 1917. It is a six-story, U-shaped brick building with approximately 200 rooms. The interior features a two-story lobby with Art Deco style lighting fixtures.
